About Nourish

Co-created by mother-daughter team Katherine Wilson and Julia Tannenbaum, Nourish is all about wholesome food preparation for those with disordered eating. Our mission is to provide delicious and nutritious recipes that anyone can make at home, along with support and education for individuals recovering from eating disorders and their families caring for them.

The word “nourish” in of itself is multi-faceted. Our bodies and minds require daily nourishment to survive. This isn’t a problem for most people, however for some, extenuating circumstances like an eating disorder make nourishing one’s self difficult. Our nourishing cooking and no-rush approach to recovery stems from personal experiences and practices that have worked for our family during tough times.

Each week, we’ll post two recipes: one savory dish and one sweet dish, respectively. All of the recipes are vegetarian, however most plant-based ingredients can be substituted with meat or fish. We’ll also upload personal posts about our approach to cooking, navigating recovery, and more on a biweekly basis.

Every recipe posted on Nourish will have a recommended serving size and a nutritional value. Instead of providing traditional nutrition facts such as calories, grams of fat, etc., we’ll use the dietician-approved Exchange System to convert those numbers into Exchanges. We believe that this is a healthier approach to viewing food whether you struggle with disordered eating or not. You can learn more about Exchanges here.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our mission. We look forward to sharing our journey to wholesome living with you.
